B-50 Complex How much of the various Vitamin B's do I need? The family of B vitamins contains all of the water-soluble vitamins except for Vitamin C. As water-soluble vitamins, the B’s have to be replenished daily, since they do not remain in the body. The B vitamins are involved in the metabolism of all cells and work together synergistically with proteins in the body’s enzyme systems. The B’s are very important to the body because they help to maintain healthy nerves, liver, skin, eyes and hair, plus help to maintain muscle tone in the intestinal tract. They are co-enzymes that are involved in energy production and thus are important for states of depression or anxiety. You can take up to 2-3 times more of a particular member of the B vitamin family if you have specific needs, but it should ideally be in conjunction all the members of the B vitamins.
